To Redeem a Rake - Christi Caldwell

Updated: Jun 14, 2020

Date Read: Sept 9, 2016

Review: This was absolutely my favorite of the Heart of a Duke series, bring tissues. Heartbreaking and also life affirming. A wonderful heroine who is strong and wise and her hero, literally from childhood, reuniting after many years. They are so good together it will break your heart.

Series: Heart of a Duke #11

Type: Regency

Heat: 7/10

Tropes: Second Chance, Wounded Heroine,

Premise: Daniel & Daphne were childhood friends and it's been thirteen years since they've seen each other. Daniel has been an unapologetic rake since his parents blamed him for his brother's drowning, while Daphne has learned to live with the injury to her leg that's left her on a crutch. She demands he become a good brother to his younger sister, so he asks her to be her companion. Will they each forgive themselves and allow themselves to be happy?

The Good: I'm not kidding when I said bring tissues, it's a good cry.

The Bad: None
